You play the game you just posted and something's off: the Start button is cut off at the bottom, or the last answer in a quiz is hidden and swiping does nothing. This is one of the most common problems with AI-made games, and it's usually easy to fix.

This guide explains why it happens, using cases we've run into on CraftNova, and how to fix it by asking the AI. No coding knowledge needed.

What it looks like

  • Buttons or choices are hidden below the bottom of the screen
  • Swiping or scrolling with the mouse wheel doesn't move the page
  • Everything fits when you open the file on your own computer, but not after posting
  • It's cut off on phones but fine on PC (or the other way around)

Why it happens

CraftNova runs every game inside a fixed-size frame. To keep the screen from sliding around while you play, the page itself doesn't scroll.

So if a game is built like a regular web page, a long column you read by scrolling down, anything that doesn't fit in the frame simply can't be reached.

The three most common causes:

1. The game is built like a long web page

Visual novels, RPGs, and quizzes with lots of text are the usual suspects. When the AI treats the request as "make a web page" instead of "make a game", content just keeps stacking downward. In one case we saw, the game itself was great, but the choices ended up below the frame and players couldn't progress.

2. Sizes are hard-coded

Values like width: 400px or height: 700px overflow on smaller phones. Every device has a different amount of room for the game, so fixed numbers rarely fit everywhere.

3. The mobile address bar isn't accounted for

On phones, the browser's address bar slides in and out. A height set with 100vh can end up taller than the visible area, pushing the bottom of the game off-screen.

How to fix it

The easiest fix is to give the AI the "Game creation guidelines" from the posting page and have it rebuild the game. The guidelines include the rules for fitting neatly inside CraftNova's frame.

To fix a game you already have, paste its HTML into the chat along with one of these requests.

For single-screen games (action, puzzle, arcade)

Fix this game so it fits the screen exactly with no scrolling.
- Calculate sizes from window.innerWidth and window.innerHeight instead of fixed numbers
- Set body to margin: 0, height: 100dvh, overflow: hidden
- Don't change the gameplay or rules

For text-heavy games (visual novels, RPGs, quizzes)

If the content really can't fit on one screen, the trick is to add a scrollable area inside the game instead of scrolling the whole page. Scrolling inside the frame works fine on CraftNova.

This game scrolls the whole page, but it needs to work where page scrolling is disabled.
- Set html and body to height: 100% and overflow: hidden
- Make the area that shows text and choices a scrollable box with overflow-y: auto
- When the scene changes, scroll that box back to the top
- Don't change the gameplay or rules
You can swap in the fixed HTML from "Edit" on My page. There's no need to post the game again.

Check before you post

  • Shrink the browser window: on a PC, make the window narrow and short and check that everything is still visible
  • Open it on a phone: hold it upright and make sure every button and choice can be tapped
  • Play to the end: the first screen may fit while a later screen is longer

If you post the game as Private first, you can test it on CraftNova without anyone else seeing it. Switch it to Public once it works.

Summary

  • The page itself doesn't scroll on CraftNova
  • Long web-page layouts and hard-coded sizes are the usual causes of cut-off games
  • Rebuild with the guidelines, or give the AI one of the requests above
  • For text-heavy games, add a scrollable area inside the game
